Dr Rebecca McKerras

Rebecca grew up in SE England and went to medical school in London. She has gained experience in many different hospital specialities in the UK and NZ before settling into GP after the birth of their first child. Rebecca especially enjoys the variety and patient relationships involved in GP work, and has a particular interest in Older Person’s Health.

Outside of work Rebecca can often be found chasing after her 2 young boys. Things that make her smile are a good cup of tea and doing creative projects involving fabric.

She is open to all health and medical enquiries and is able to do IUCD insertion and minor medical procedures. Charlotte is an advocate for early prevention and is committed to screening and risk assessment.

Providing care to all members of the family is what Andrew enjoys most about general practice.  Before studying medicine at Edinburgh University, Andrew spent a year abroad working as a teacher in Zimbabwe.  In later years, after moving to New Zealand, he would get to follow his passion for teaching but this time as a Clinical Senior Lecturer at Wellington School of Medicine.  “I am passionate about medical education, teaching registrars, training interns and house officers” – all of which is done at the Hastings Health Centre.

NP Catrina Del Rosario

A Nurse Practitioner has advanced training that enables them to assess, diagnose, prescribe, order and interpret results, and provide treatment as a lead health care provider. They can do most things that you would see your General Practitioner for. 

Catrina grew up in Hawkes Bay and moved to Dunedin for University. She then returned to Hawkes Bay and has been working at Hastings Health Centre since 2016.

She completed her Masters degree and Nurse Practitioner training through Massey University, gaining first class honours. Catrina has also completed a post-graduate diploma in long term conditions management.

She enjoys all aspects of family practice, and has a particular interest in long term conditions and women’s health. Her aim is to provide families with optimal and holistic health care.

Catrina loves to keep fit and active. She spends a lot of her time outdoors with her husband, baby girl and their dog.”

After living in Auckland for university and her early career Louise enjoys being back in Hawkes Bay.  She loves getting to know her patients over an extended period of time. When she is not working she is busy with her young family, training for her first half marathon, spending time on her apple orchard and is actively involved in her church.
